Frequently Asked Questions
What is the charge for your services? How much does
home care cost?
Each type of service has a different cost. We charge for our services
either on hourly rates or on intermittent visit rates. For some hourly
rate services, there are a minimum number of hours required. Our fees
are competitive and have a range of flexibility to them depending upon
different variables. It is best to call our office for specifics. It should
be noted that 80% of our costs are employee related. The fees reflect
the fact that we pay for workers' compensation, general liability, bonding
and professional liability insurance coverage on our employees.

Are you Medicare/Medicaid certified? Does Medicare
pay for your services?
No, even though the majority of our caseload is the frail, elderly
and disabled. At the inception of Harbour Private Duty, a deliberate
decision was made not to become Medicare certified. The added costs
and restrictions imposed by Medicare would have limited our ability
to provide client specific, personalized services and been cost
prohibitive. Long-term, custodial care in the home is not reimbursed
by Medicare. Our clients want the level of care and service that
they need and pay for the service through their personal resources
or insurance.

Who else besides the elderly uses home care?
We have contracts with some insurance companies to provide home
health care under their workmen's compensation policies for employees
injured on the job. For those individuals that have private insurance
with companies with which we do not have a contract, we are pleased
to provide all necessary paperwork and records necessary for the
patient to file their claims directly with the company. The individual
client in these cases, however, is directly responsible to us for
the payment for services.

I don't live in Central Florida but my elderly parents
do. Could you help me make sure that they are doing ok?
Yes we can. We have many clients whose adult children hire Harbour Private
Duty to provide services for their parents. Many of these children live
out of the State of Florida. We provide periodic reports on their parents'
health status to them and are only a phone call away to answer questions
and receive input. Our services provide the security of a fully staffed,
licensed home health agency to meet all their parents needs. This is not
the case if the patient's family hires someone privately.

How could I find out if I, or someone I know,
could benefit from your services? How do I access your services?
The first step should be to call our office at (407) 895-8188 or
our toll free number 1(877)-473-6552. Our office staff can answer
your questions with no obligation on your part. We would be happy
to mail you our free, informative brochure.
